How to Set up Custom Domain Tracking

Guide to Set up Your Own Domain for Tracking Email Activities

Domain tracking is unique for each sender account, and so, it is set at the mailbox level. We recommend using the same domain as the account.

For instance, if the email is [e-mail], then the tracking domain could be any subdomain of closershq.io; example; smart.closershq.io.

How to setup domain or subdomain for email tracking

By default, ClosersHQ uses closers.closrhq.com as the tracking domain for your campaigns. This is used to track opens and replies.

To use your own custom domain or subdomain for email tracking, head to 'email accounts' and click on the three dots to the right of the mailbox you want to track. In the dropdown menu, select 'Custom domain'.

In the sidebar that opens, click 'Use custom domain';

Enter your custom tracking domain or subdomain;

Next, head over to your DNS Manager and configure the domain or subdomain you just entered. The process is simple and as follows;

• Create a CNAME for the domain you entered above, pointing to closers.closrshq.com

N/B: The Host, while configuring the Cname, could be anything you want example xxxx.domain.com. You might want to use something like smart.domain.com, while domain.com your actual domain.

In the input area above on ClosersHQ.io, enter the domain or subdomain without adding https:// or any prefix. Then, click 'Add'.
